America's Golden Boy

He may have broken Mark Spitz's record for Gold Medals in the Olympics, but guess what folks? He's still just a kid. And because he's still just a kid, he's kissing a lot of stuff goodbye for this. Sucks.

Speaking of drugs- I have had a cold for about 4 days now, and its the kind of cold that really has me feeling ok enough to get out of bed and do some things around the house, but not ok enough to work out. The main drawback of the cold (aside from the sore throat and complete mental fog) is that i cannot sleep. I'm talking 2 hours a night. I guess the older i get, the more sensitive i am to cold medicine, because NyQuil makes me heart race. Yesterday my mom offers me a Lunesta to help me sleep. I take it with a glass of wine (as prescribed by my sister) at 9pm and get into bed at 9:30. I turned the light out at 10, and John came to bed at 11, and i woke up. So i got one good hour and tossed and turned the rest of the night. What the heck!? I must say however, i woke up feeling much better and worked out for 2 hours. Ben went to the groomer, and is outfitted with his Cardinals Scarf (go Kurt!!!)

We are hosting a superbowl party today and expect about 15 people. Lots of photos to come!

PS---our bulldog, since being neutered, has tripled his energy level. Its driving me nuts!!!!!
