A Word To the Wise...

I really must give John some credit for letting me pretty much let my design ideas run loose in his house. There are a handful of things he still WONT let me do, so I found it high time to allow him to pick a paint color for the one remaining room yet painted. What color did he choose to paint his office? Burgundy. GASSSSSSP! Color?! Oh my god. First thought....passe. Second thought, what curtains go with BURGUNDY? Last thought...how can I make Burgundy look good?
Answer one: Passe, yes. But, burgundy can mean a lot of colors, maybe I can coax him towards something more brown.
Answer two: Camel/gold roman shades. Simple. Its an office.
Answer three: Striee. Tone on tone narrow stripes. Its a feat, but its timeless, and could possibly save this room from its doom.

So, after picking the fateful color (we went instead with Merlot, which is deeper in the brown direction), I bought flat and semi gloss.
After prepping the room, i prepared to cut in the edges, and immediately had a coronary when i realized this is going to need AT LEAST 2 coats. Me oh my, 2 coats? That alone is why i dont paint with color, EVER (aside from color usually gets old looking after about 1 month to me).

So, rightfully so, i have put up the first coat, and taking a break with a glass of PINOT. I'll post a picture once its complete. Until then, John has removed all shoe laces from shoes, and sharp objects from the office in fear i may attempt to take my life in this process.
