Angel

This is a Bittersweet post....

Since Cause for the Paws was established, I am often contacted by people looking for answers for what to do in sticky situations involving an animal. I try my best to answer myself, but often have had to call our vet, or even advised calling local police. So when I recieved an email from a friend regarding an abused English Bulldog, and was without any idea what to do...I was totally wrecked.

To make a long, and very detailed email short, an English Bulldog named Angel was found in a trailer belonging to a man with many serious problems, one of which was his obsession with abusing Angel, neglecting her for weeks at a time, and even "probing" her with foreign objects. Under suspicion for other crimes, the police raided his "home" while he was gone, and after an hour going through his crap, found Angel quivering, scared, and tied up in a corner. She was totally emaciated, malnourished, covered in fleas, her own excrement and had something severely wrong with her rectum and vagina. Angel was taken in by St. Louis Bulldog Rescue, and that's when we were contacted. She needs major surgery to survive her abusive past, and some real TLC. Thankfully, she's gotten the TLC over the past week, and has a light back in her eye. But, the cost of her surgery is going to be high. Cause for the Paws has stepped up and made a donation, but ask that if you know anyone, please spread the word of Angel. In the meantime, Oscar is excited for Angel's recovery, and has been dictating love letters for her to be read to while she recovers. Such a Casanova!
